Prayer

When you make a request

to the Almighty Lord
It's like making a request,

 a child makes to his mother

We were delighted

when our mother responded

with words of giving
or agreed to the thing requested

and we got what we really wanted
Maybe she convinced you
that you really didn't need it
or even flatly denied you.

 When you, however,

really felt you needed it

and insisted for it
and kept constantly

persisting patiently

so her mind will be changed

your repeated request

The same is done with our requests

to the Almighty God or Goddess

when we repeat them again and again

These recitations

In the form of wishes and thoughts

Turn into rituals to practice

This becomes known

as participating in a belief system

And the religious setting 

Prayer is the language

That gives us and others

hope to get us the things 

to heal the pain of the body
